A Joint Media Event for Press & Social Media was launched on  Thursday 19th March 2015 at the Barrow Boy and Banker Public House, Upstairs Dining Room, London Bridge.
The Organiser of this event was Mr John Hellings, Chairman of UKIP Southwark Branch & the Election Agent  for David Kurten,  for Camberwell & Peckham , Andrew Beadle,  Bermondsey & Old Southwark, Rathy Alagaratnam,  Dulwich & West Norwood, Bruce Machan  for  Streatham and Ace Norom in Vauxhall.
Rathy Alagaratnam’s Constituency  covers  both Southwark  and Lambeth.

Parliamentary Constituencies based in South London.
Graduate Rathy gave up her work to become a Carer  for her diabetic mother, giving her unique insights into health  care and the challenges facing an overstretched NHS.
UKIP will ensure the NHS remains free at the point of delivery with an extra £3bn more in to NHS frontline services.
Rathy Alagaratnam UKIP PPC for Dulwich and West Norwood, spoke movingly about the extra reason why the NHS was more precious to her  because of the 150 years in total service by her family members. Rathy stated that  close relatives  and family friends  of hers have contributed to the NHS.
UKIP  supports the merging of Health and Adult Social Care as a priority to enable more joined up integrated patients management. Elderly Social Care
safeguarded with £1bn per year.
Rathy Alagaratnam  stated that UKIP will protect it and vowed to put a stop to record levels of unpaid NHS bills for treating  Health Tourist.
As  the result of a nationwide investigation by ‘The Sunday Times’ newspaper  using the Freedom of Information Act.   Kings College Hospital had the higest bill of  nearly £18 million owned from the 100 NHS Hospital Trusts were owed since 2010.   With one patient alone racking up a debt of £207,482 for renal treatment at this Top Hospital in Denmark Hill.
Neighbouring Guy’s and St Thomas’ Foundation Trust was shy of £7.64 million for treating Health Tourist.
“The money wasted by failing to collect payment from Health Tourist at King’s and other  Hospital Trusts has impacted on waiting times of long suffering patients  and could pay other much needed NHS Staffing costs” said  Rathy
Alagaratnam.  ”  We see this  –  over the weekends and public holidays, ,where  we are always having hospitals  having serious staff shortages “.
“UKIP is clear about this  –  to stop this NHS precious resource being abused
in this time of austerity and growing national debt by supporting a condition of  entry to the United Kingdom by paying upfront through a valid insurance policy or private funds  and for migrants who have paid National Insurance,” said  Rathy  Alagaratnam UKIP Candidate   for Dulwich and West Norwood.
